Wednesday May 20, 2020
Wednesday May 20, 2020
May is Mental Health Awareness Month, and if you don’t know by now, all of our minisodes this month are dedicated to mental health. Today’s minisode will be a discussion on depression. What is it? What does it do? How can you get help if you need? How can you help someone else in need?
No one should go through this alone, so please know there are people out there ready and able to help you.
For anyone who needs the resources, you can always text the crisis text line by texting HOME to 741741 or going to their website at crisistextline.org
You can also call the national suicide prevention lifeline at 1-800-273-8255 to speak with a counselor. Or you can go to suicidepreventionlifeline.org
You can always DM us on Instagram @blackbirdadvocacy, too. I am not a counselor, but I am an advocate and I always there to talk and provide information when needed. Sometimes it helps to just talk.
