Newton was a recluse because his distrust of others, and he wasted hundreds of hours trying to find secret codes in the Bible. He definitely saw patterns that most couldnt see... sounds like my kind of guy.

We don’t naturally prefer to be isolated. It’s just that we have the persistant impression that EVERYONE is against us or out to get us. We crave deep human connection, but are afraid of being betrayed and super-sensitive (or even dysphoric) to concealed, passive, or subtle derision or judgment. We are very defensive.

People just freeze or ignore if there is something or someone too unexpected around them. They treat each other normally, but act awkward around us. So we grew to dislike or distrust most people, because they left us feeling left out. And we see the world as being mostly coldhearted, dimwitted, or mean.

Schizotypal PD is really the consequence of being mistreated by normies for being too outside of the box. Our imaginativeness and creativity is so encumbering that if we do not have a super sharp and well-aimed social sense, we will not see eye-to-eye with rigid people or those of average or less intelligence. This will exclude us from fully socializing at formative ages.

The reason there are more Schizotypal people in the general population than in patients is obvious to someone on the spectrum like me: What kind of asocial paranoid lunatic would EVER check themselves in to a cage where we are watched at all times? Sounds like a nightmare. Besides, Schizotypals don’t tend to trust their own therapists or at least don’t respect them all that much. Under natural conditions, we have no close friends besides a family member. So few will even be aware of our issues.
