Sexual assault on college campuses is extremely common. According to the Rape, Abuse, and Incest National Network, among undergraduate students, 23.1% of females and 5.4% of males experience rape or sexual assault through physical force, violence, or incapacitation.
Around 1am January 18th, 2015, two graduate students, Peter Lars Jonsson and Carl-Fredrik Arndt were riding their bicycles by the Kappa Alpha fraternity house on the Stanford University campus when they spotted something they found to be unusual. They saw a man assaulting a woman being a dumpster. Jonsson and Arndt held the perpetrator until the police arrived on scene, preceding his arrest.
If you or someone you know has been a victim or survivor of sexual assault, reach out for help at RAINN.org or 1-800-656-HOPE (4673).
